Drumming Lessons

For the longest time ever, mommy has been wanting to teach me how to drum but never got around to it. We only tried it whenever we are back in Penang with the bucket of fish food at grandpa's house.

Look how uninspiring the bucket is, it looks nothing like a drum. Thats why I never understood what she wanted.

During mommy & daddy's trip to Bali, they found a drum while wondering around Ubud Market (psstt... they ate so much of Ibu Oka's delicious lunch, they had to walk it off by shopping).

They said they had to bargain hard for the drum. The price went from 250,000 IDR to 50,000 IDR. Fair price?

I wish they would have save the trouble by getting me Ibu Oka's Babi Guling as a gift instead of the drum *sulk sulk*.

Now that they are back in Kuala Lumpur, our first drumming session consisted of mommy trying to keep the drum from tumbling over whenever I put my paws on it. We didn't get far during our first session as I would freak out and run away whenever the drum wobbled. When mommy finally figured out how to to hold the drum securely, I thought we were doing the elephant trick and would plant my front feet firmly on the drum and dance around with my back feet.

During our second session, mommy had the brilliant idea to wedged the drum in a bowl with my toys to keep it from falling over. Our drumming lesson were also done sitting on the floor to prevent me from dancing with my back legs.

Can shelties drum?

Tadaaa! Soli picture only. Video below.

U want me to sing too?

Now that the drum looks like A DRUM, our progress is much faster and I might be playing the tabla during mommy's yoga sadhanas. I am sure if they brought back babi guling and bebek from Bali, I would have mastered drumming in a session!
